Scholarship Program
Scholarship Information
The Houston Council of the Blind (HCB) is an organization of blind persons devoted to the educational and social needs of the blind and visually impaired community. We plan to give at least three scholarships in 2008.
Students who apply for the scholarships may be enrolled in college, or they may be a high school senior, or they may be accepted in a technical or vocational institution of higher learning.
Students applying for scholarships may be currently enrolled or choose to enroll in courses that do not apply to the field of blindness. We encourage students to choose fields of study or vocational fields in which they are comfortable.
We also have a scholarship available for students studying computer science or information technology.
For students to be eligible for our scholarships, they must reside in the greater Houston Area and attend full time (at least 12 hours). Specific academic and enrollment qualifications are listed on the application attached to this letter.
If you would like to apply for one of our scholarships, please visit the Scholarship Application Form page
If you need more information, please write to the above address or call 713-520-9237.
Thank you in advance for your participation in our effort to encourage and assist students who are blind and/or visually impaired.
